Member of Cathedral Finance Committee


Leicester Cathedral is looking for an additional member to join its Finance Committee.  To balance the skill set of the Committee, the ideal candidate would be a practicing qualified accountant.  Knowledge of charity accounting practice would be an advantage, but is not essential.  We are also keen to improve the diversity of membership in terms of age, ethnicity and gender.

The Committee is responsible for advising Chapter (effectively the board of trustees) on all financial aspects of the Cathedral, including budgets, monitoring of financial performance, financial procedures and investment policy.  Later in 2021, construction work will begin on a major (£12.5 million) redevelopment project, Leicester Cathedral Revealed, which will require particular financial oversight.

The Committee meets approximately five times per year.  Meetings are held during the daytime, most usually on a Tuesday morning.  The term of office is three years, with members eligible to serve a second term.  For more details, an informal conversation or to register your interest, please contact the Cathedral Administrator, Jonathan Kerry jonathan.kerry@leicestercofe.org
