It is with sadness that we announce the death of Mr Joseph Smith, aged 82, on 6 March 2023.
Joe was a respected licensed Reader in the benefice of Earl Shilton Parish Church and Elmesthorpe Parish
Church for many years, taking services, funerals, and preaching. Joe also served as Lay Chaplain to Hinckley
and Bosworth Community Hospital and the Leicester Royal Infirmary over a great many years, until his move
to Radcliffe on Trent during the Pandemic in 2021. He leaves three beloved adult children, Jo, Lydia, and Sam, and their families. Joe’s funeral service is to be held in All Saints Church Thurlaston, at 10am on Friday 31 March, to which all are most welcome.
