Bishops Martyn and Guli have responded to the tragic attack on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand by writing a letter expressing their sadness and reassurances of support to the Muslim Community. The letter reads:

To our brothers and sisters in the Muslim Community,

We are shocked and saddened to hear of the shootings at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand. We offer our condolences to all those affected, and our thoughts and prayers are with them and those in the emergency services who are responding.
We utterly condemn such terrorist activities. Leicester and Leicestershire take pride in our welcome and care for people of all faiths and none. We will continue to work closely with the Muslim community, providing whatever support and reassurance is needed.
