Laughter and serious reflection on faith were evidenced at the 'Pizza night'

Fun, laughter and serious reflection on faith were all in evidence at the “Pizza and Prayer evening” at the Cathedral. The event, a follow-up to last year’s Bishop’s Big Conversation weekend was attended by members of Chalk (the Cathedral’s youth ministry), youth and children from the choir or congregation members aged between 11 and 15.

Pizza, cakes and biscuits were on the menu, and the film “Bruce Almighty” starring Morgan Freeman & Jim Carrey was used to stimulate discussion about prayer.

The evening ended with the creation of a “pizza” prayer, with paper “pizza slices” having prayers written on them before being turned into a whole “pizza” of prayers. Paul Rattigan, the Cathedral’s new Canon Chancellor closed what had been a really positive evening with a few thoughts and a final blessing.
