Grant Funding for Churches

The Church Building Team would particularly like to hear from churches who applied to Historic England's Emergency COVID-19 fund, and who have not been in contact already, irrespective of whether their Expression of Interest was successful or not.


Ride + Stride 2020

Ride+Sride 2020 is going ahead, albeit a bit differently and with guidance that emphasises social distancing and the extra care that needs to be taken this year. 


Service of Recommitment and Prayer for all involved in ministry

On Saturday 25 April at 11am, there will be an online service of recommitment and prayer for all those involved in lay ministry of any kind (mirroring the annual service for clergy on Maundy Thursday).


Congregational Development through Community Organising in a Time of Covid19

An invitation to church leaders to gather between 3 and 7 members of their congregation for an online opportunity to explore the question: “How do we test whether our work is building deep congregational life that eases suffering, develops relationships, builds new leaders, supports stewardship and grows the church?”


Online Maundy Thursday Service

Each year on Maundy Thursday the clergy of the diocese gather in the Cathedral to renew their ordination vows and for the blessing of the oils. This year we can't have the usual Cathedral service, but all clergy (licensed and PTO) have been invited to a service on Zoom, which we will also broadcast on our Facebook page this Thursday at 11am


Online Finance Returns System Is Open For Business

The system is now open to submit your return for 2019 with the deadline for completing both the return and submitting your annual accounts to the finance team being May 31st 2020


Deadline for Annual Parochial Church Meeting extended

A new version of the Church Representation Rules comes into force on 1 January 2020. The Church Representation Rules (CRR) are the rules for setting up an electoral roll, holding an APCM, and how lay people get elected onto the PCC and the Deanery, Diocesan and General Synods.

In Memory Of Andrew

Cheques totalling a magnificent £1,500 have been presented to the Adult Intensive Care Unit at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester, in memory of St Mary's Church, Melton Mowbray, stalwart Andrew Nutter, who sadly died following heart surgery on July 28th
