“The overarching aim of the Ministry Experience Scheme (MES) is to give young adults (18s-30s), from all backgrounds, the space and time to test God’s calling on their lives. It offers the chance to experience practical ministry, enrich theological understanding and further personal development, all with ongoing support from peers and supervisors”
– MES Website.
The Ministry Experience Scheme in Leicester Diocese has three core elements:
- Missional placement - Placement churches provide a context for ministry, accommodation, and supervision. We have city, town, and rural placements across a range of church traditions.
- Training - We will work with you to find a suitable programme of study or vocational training. Options may include New Wine Discipleship Year, lay ministry training or Diocesan courses.
- Listening Groups – Regularly gather with other MES participants to share story and food, socialise, listen to, and pray for each other. Build deep-spirited friendships and allow difference to enrich your worldview.
The scheme runs from early September to mid-July.
