It is with sadness that we announce the death of Canon David Beeson, on 2 December 2024.
David gave a lifetime of service to church and community and his association with the Diocese of Leicester goes back many decades. David was a DBF trustee and a member of Diocesan Synod for many years, as well as serving as Chair of the Glebe Committee, bringing great wisdom and knowledge from his life in farming. He was a great friend of the Cathedral and a Canon Emeritus, and served for more than a decade as the Chair of the Friends of Leicester Cathedral. Locally he had a lifelong association with St Nicholas, Frolesworth, where he served as churchwarden from 1969 until his passing, and served as Lay Chair of Guthlaxton Deanery for 10 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan, and will be greatly missed by his many friends.
David’s body will be received into the church at Frolesworth on Thursday 19 December at 6pm and his funeral service will be held on Friday 20 December 2024 at 1.30pm at St Nicholas Church, Main Street, Frolesworth LE17 5EF. All are welcome.
