It is with great sadness that we share the news that John McCallum died peacefully on the evening of Saturday 29th June.
John was employed by St Philip’s Centre since June 2011 as the East Midlands Coordinator for the Near Neighbours Programme. John was active across Leicester and Nottingham encouraging local groups and individuals to work together to run projects that improved local neighbourhoods. John also ran training courses in fundraising, charity governance, risk assessment and other aspects of running a charity or social enterprise.
Revd Dr Tom Wilson, the Director of the Centre, said “John was a much-loved friend and colleague. I can think of many people, of all faiths and no faiths, who benefitted from his gentle and servant hearted approach.
A thanksgiving service for the life and work of John McCallum, Near Neighbours Co-ordinator at the St Philip’s Centre, will be held on 18th July at 1.00pm at All Saints Church Bedworth. Refreshments will be served in church after the service. All are welcome.
