It is with sadness that we announce the death of The Revd Brian Thompson, aged 91, on 16 January 2026.
Brian was ordained in Stafford in 1984, and served as Vicar to St Andrew’s Sneyd Green, Stoke-on-Trent until his retirement in 1999. Brian then held the Bishop’s Permission to Officiate in the Diocese of Lichfield until 2012, when he later held Permission to Officiate in the Diocese of Leicester from 2012 until 2020 and within Stuart Court only between 2020 and 2022.
Brian was the beloved husband of Pat and father of Andrew, Mark and Lucy, a proud Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and honoured friend.
Brian’s funeral will be on Monday 2 February 2026 at Stuart Court Chapel, Kibworth Beauchamp at 2pm. All are welcome to attend. If desired, donations may be made to either Christian Aid or British Heart Foundation, in place of flowers.
