The Bishop announces the death of the Revd David Shaw aged 86 on 24 December 2018.
David was ordained in Derry in 1969 and served his curacy in Derry and Raphoe. He was then Rector of Chedburgh with Depden and Rede in the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich before moving to be Rector of Desford (later Desford and Peckleton with Tooley) in this Diocese in 1982. He moved to be Priest in Charge of Ramsden Crays with Ramsden Bellhouse in Chelmsford Diocese in 1991 until he retired to Desford in 1995.
He continued an active ministry at St Martin’s Church, Desford with the Bishop’s Permission to Officiate until his health deteriorated in November 2018.
David’s funeral is arranged for Friday 11 January 2019, 1.30pm at St Martin’s Church Desford.
