Cleaning church buildings in preparation for re-opening or in between uses

As restrictions ease, PCCs may be considering the questions of how to clean their church building appropriately in order to prepare for re-opening and what kind of cleaning is required in between uses.

We would like to signpost The Church of England Guidance on how to clean a historic church. Historic fabric can potentially be damaged by using inappropriate cleaning materials or methods so PCCs should follow this guidance.

Historic England has also produced detailed guidance on methods and materials
