A reminder that following his appointment as the new Dean of Canterbury, The Very Revd David, Dean of Leicester, will lead his last Leicester Cathedral Service at St Martins House, Leicester, at 10.30am on Sunday 27 November, with a Farewell Evensong Service held at St Mary de Castro Church, Leicester at 7.00pm that evening. All are welcome at both.
His Installation Service as the new Dean of Canterbury will be held at 3.00pm on Saturday 17 December in Canterbury Cathedral. Free tickets can obtained from Eventbrite here.
A coach service is being provided should you wish to attend, although you are of course free to travel independently. There will be a charge of £30 for the journey.
The approximate timings are as follows:
08.00 – Leave St Martins House
12.00 - Arrive at Canterbury
Leisure time to shop and/or get some lunch
14.30 – Arrive at the Cathedral to take your seats
15.00 – Service begins, followed by light refreshments
17.30 – Coach leaves Canterbury to return to Leicester
21.00 – Arrive in Leicester
Spaces on the coach are limited and will be given out on a first come, first served basis. To reserve places, please send an email by Monday 21 November to jonathan.kerry@leicestercofe.org and he will advise you how to make payment.
The service will also be livestreamed via the Canterbury Cathedral website - we will share the link nearer the time.
