St Margaret’s Church in the city has partnered with AGE UK Leicester Shire & Rutland to raise £10,000 by Christmas 2019 in donations of Clothing, Books, DVD’s, Bric a Brac and Furniture.
AGE UK is the largest supplier of services and support across the whole of Leicester and Leicestershire to those people over the age of 50 who are suffering the most through the last 7 years of austerity.
AGE UK are desperately in need of donations to sell through their network of 28 shops to support current activities but also to launch new initiatives focussed on Loneliness and Dementia.
Will your Church enter into the challenge with St Margaret’s?
How?
AGE UK will deliver a standalone cardboard DONATION STATION to your Church at a time and date to suit you. In addition they will supply donation bags and a small display stand with leaflets showing the full range of the services they offer to the people of Leicester and Leicestershire.
After an agreed time of 2 – 3 weeks they will collect all donations, again at an agreed time and date, they will sort and sell them and give you feedback on the amount that your congregation raised towards the total.
