The Revd Sharon Constable

The Bishop announces that The Revd Sharon Constable will be resigning as Area Dean of Guthlaxton with effect from 1 March 2021. Sharon will continue as Rector of the Benefice of Broughton Astley and Croft with Stoney Stanton and Interim Priest of the Avon-Swift Benefice.


The Revd Sonya Wratten

The Bishop announces that The Revd Sonya Wratten, Healthcare Chaplain at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trusts, has been appointed as Vicar of Reading Minster, St Mary the Virgin in the Diocese of Oxford.


The Revd Dmitry Lutsenko

The Bishop announces that The Revd Dmitry Lutsenko, Curate in the Benefice of St John Hinckley (currently on secondment at Walsgrave St Mary, Coventry), has been appointed as Vicar of St Mary the Virgin, Horsell in the Diocese of Guildford.


The Revd Canon Emma Davies - Licensing

Further to the announcement on 30 October advising that The Revd Canon Emma Davies has been appointed as Canon Precentor and Canon Residentiary at Leicester Cathedral. It is now confirmed that Emma will be licensed by the Bishop of Leicester, The Rt Revd Martyn Snow, on Sunday 31 January 2021 at 3pm at Leicester Cathedral.


The Revd Dr Johannes Arens

The Bishop is pleased to announce the appointment of The Revd Dr Johannes Arens as Honorary Canon of Leicester Cathedral. The date of Johannes' installation is to be confirmed.


Jon Walker elected to General Synod

Following a closely fought election to fill the lay place on General Synod vacated by Jonathan Cryer, Jon Walker was duly elected when votes were counted on 13 November.


The Revd Canon Kenneth William Baker

The Bishop has been informed of the death of The Revd Canon Kenneth William Baker in August 2020, aged 81. Ken was ordained in 1997 and served initially in the Diocese of Peterborough. From 2001 he was Priest in Charge at Swinford and Kilworth, and then Team Rector of the Avon-Swift Benefice until 2011. He then served as Priest in Charge of Humberstone from 2012 until he retired in 2014. Ken was Rural Dean of Guthlaxton from 2005 – 2010 and was made Honorary Canon of Leicester Cathedral in 2006


The Revd Richard Alfred White

The Bishop announces the death of The Revd Richard Alfred White, aged 71, on Friday 6th November 2020. Richard was ordained in 1990 and served his curacy at St Philip's, Leicester. He then ministered at Old Dalby and Nether Broughton and as Rector at Ibstock with Heather from 1998 until he retired in 2010. He held the Bishop's Permission to Officiate.


The Revd Mark Carroll

The Bishop announces that The Revd Mark Carroll has moved curacy from Loughborough, All Saints with Holy Trinity to Ab Kettleby and Holwell with Asfordby (but will be ministering across the Framland deanery). This took effect on 1st October 2020.


The Revd Steven Harvey

The Bishop is pleased to announce the secondment of The Revd Steven Harvey, Associate Rector in the Benefice of Emmanuel Loughborough, to the Benefice of Broom Leys from Monday 16th November 2020 for a period of 6 months.
