Permission to Officiate

Please note that The Revd Mick Gillespie has been granted the Bishop's Permission to Officiate which will expire on 1st February 2025.


The Revd Mohammad Eghtedarian

The Bishop is pleased to announce the appointment of The Revd Mohammad Eghtedarian, previously Chaplain at St Nicholas Church in Ankara, Turkey, as Intercultural Pioneer Minister in the Oadby Great Glen Team Ministry.


The Revd Michael Ewart Currah

The Bishop announces the death of The Revd Michael Ewart Currah (aged 88) on Sunday 9th February 2020.


The Revd Catherine (Cathy) Davies

The Bishop announces that The Revd Cathy Davies, Assistant Warden at Launde Abbey and House for Duty at Loddington with Launde Abbey, will be resigning with effect from Friday 3rd April 2020.


The Revd Canon Lee Francis-Dehqani

Further to the announcement dated 16th January advising that The Revd Canon Lee Francis-Dehqani has been appointed as Priest-in-Charge of The Fosse Team, Lee will be licensed by The Archdeacon of Leicester, The Ven Richard Worsfold, on Sunday 15th March at 10am at St Mary's Church, Barkby.


The Revd Canon Peter Mackenzie

The Bishop is pleased to announce the appointment of The Revd Canon Peter Mackenzie, who currently holds Permission to Officiate in this diocese, as Associate Priest in the Benefice of Market Harborough and The Transfiguration – Little Bowden with Lubenham and Great Bowden (with responsibility for Great Bowden), for a period of eighteen months.


The Revd Marian Bennett

The Bishop announces that The Revd Marian Bennett, Associate Priest in the Benefice of Castle Donington and Lockington cum Hemingon, will be resigning with effect from Sunday 15th March 2020.


The Revd Stephen Delaforce

The Bishop announces that The Revd Stephen Delaforce, Vicar in the Benefice of Stocking Farm and Beaumont Leys, will be retiring with effect from Sunday 26th April 2020.


The Revd Canon Lee Francis-Dehqani

The Bishop is pleased to announce the appointment of The Revd Canon Lee Francis-Dehqani, Interim Team Rector, as Priest-in-Charge of The Fosse Team. Lee will have particular responsibility for the parishes of Syston and Barkby. The date of Lee's licensing will be announced in due course.


The Revd Peter Evans

The Bishop announces the death of The Revd Peter Evans (aged 79) on 29th December 2019. Peter held Permission to Officiate in Leicester diocese from 2004 and prior to that, served his ministry in Southwark diocese.
