Bishops of Loughborough and Willesden to be consecrated at a special service for Leicestershire

The next Bishop of Loughborough, Revd Saju Muthalaly, is to be consecrated at St Paul’s Cathedral, London, on a special day for Leicestershire tomorrow (Tuesday 25 Jan).

Rev Saju will be consecrated during the service led by the Archbishop of Canterbury, who will also consecrate Revd Canon Lusa Nsenga-Ngoy the next Bishop of Willesden, London, and Revd Lynne Cullens the next Bishop of Barking.

Lusa is leaving his role as Diocese of Leicester’s BAME Mission Enabler to become Bishop and Lynne will be Suffragan Bishop to the Bishop of Chelmsford, the Rt Revd Guli Francis-Dehqani, who was herself the first Bishop of Loughborough (2017 – 2021).

Saju, who has family and friends in India and other countries as well as in the UK, has been meeting with Lusa and Lynne ahead of their consecration to pray ahead of their service and the start of their ministry as bishops.

Saju will be officially welcomed into the diocese as the Bishop of Loughborough at a special service with civic guests and representatives of the diocese at Brockington Church of England Academy in Enderby, Leicestershire at 3pm on Saturday 5th February. The service is not open to the public because places are limited but it will be livestreamed on the Leicester Cathedral Youtube account.
