Bishops Martyn and Saju have opened the new Memorial Garden at Grace Road, the home of Leicestershire County Cricket Club (LCCC) with the Leicester Faith Leaders Forum.
Bishop's Chaplain and Captain of the Diocese of Leicester Cricket Team, Revd James Pickersgill, used the LCCC batting helmet to hold the holy water which Bishop Martyn used for the ceremony.
Bishop Saju enjoyed meeting Lucy Weston, a Leicestershire all rounder, who he hopes will go on to play for England and Sean Jarvis, CEO of the club, who believes the presence of Bishops and faith leaders increases the prospect of his teams success.
