Carols Around the Tree in Hinckley

In another great example of churches working in partnership together churches from across Hinckley, supported by Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council, held ‘Carols around the Tree’ in Hinckley Market Place, on Friday 10 December.

About 150 gathered (on the cold but festive afternoon) to sing carols and hear the Christmas story from Luke’s gospel. Simon Wearn (Holy Trinity) led the service, supported by the band and choir from St Mary’s Church, readers were drawn from across the Churches (St. John’s, the Mayor Ted Hollick, Hinckley Methodists), Andrew Mudharara (URC minister) led the prayers and Derek Marvin (Trinity Lane Chapel) spoke on the gift that God wants for Christmas – us (!) that we might welcome God in.
