This year, Leicester was one of several dioceses to partner with the Church of England 30k Project to pilot new training programmes for children and youth leaders.
We are now recruiting for participants to join a second cohort in Autumn 2024.
Catalyst30k Training
The course is for anyone who would like further training in children and youth ministry, be they new and experienced volunteers, paid workers, and those discerning a call to this area of ministry.
The course is delivered by Ridley Hall, Cambridge and fully funded by the Church of England.
What the 23/24 Cohort Say...
Fifteen participants from across the diocese have been engaging with the Catalyst course, including volunteer leaders, paid children’s workers and those who simply have a passion for children and young people and are hoping to start new ministry soon.
We asked them about their experiences of Catalyst and they had these positive and hopeful words to share:
Mandy said: “Catalyst 30K conference was so inspiring! The Saturday night firepit worship was lovely and it was great to get to meet so many like-minded people and especially good to get to know the other participants from Leicester."
Bhavani said: "I had the chance to meet new people and learn from their experiences during Catalyst. It boosted my confidence. Sharing faith stories inspired me a lot. It was a great opportunity, especially as I start volunteering in children and youth ministry."
Jinni said: “It has been incredibly inspiring and has given me new insights into my faith and personal growth... During Bonfire I experienced a wave of God’s presence as we all were worshiping in different languages and songs and culture. That was such a joyful and wonderful experience."

What is involved?
Five monthly sessions, starting October 2024. Engage with topic content from the comfort of your own home, at a time that suits you, or via the Catalyst online learning platform. Each month you'll gather (via zoom) with other Catalyst participants from your diocese to share learning and reflections.
At the end of January (Friday 31 to Sunday 2 February) you and all Catalyst participants from other dioceses are invited to the three-day Catalyst conference at the Hayes Conference Centre in Derbyshire.
