Celebrating ‘new beginnings’ and giving thanks to God for the gift of clergy who provide spiritual service and pastoral care to their parishes, we mark a number of licensings that have recently taken place across the Diocese of Leicester.
The Revd Biddy Saunders was licensed Associate Priest (SSM) for the Parish of Barkby within the Fosse Team Benefice, at St Mary’s Church in Barkby (Left).
Surrounded and supported by parishioners, family and friends, Revd Biddy was licensed by The Archdeacon of Leicester, The Ven Richard Worsfold, and joined in worship by the Area Dean, the Revd Canon Rob Gladstone.
In a service of welcome and commitment to shared ministry, the Revd Roz Harper was licensed as Team Vicar for the Parishes of Syston and East Goscote within the Fosse Team Ministry (Right)
Bishop Saju led the worship at St Hilda’s Church in East Goscote, which marked Revd Roz’s move across the diocese from her curacy in the Benefice of Burbage cum Aston Flamville.
Earlier this month, Revd Dr Mary Barr was licensed as Team Rector in the Benefice of Melton Mowbray during a service of welcome, institution, induction and installation, and commitment to shared ministry in the benefice and in the Melton Mowbray Team Ministry (Left)
Bishop Martyn led the service at St Mary’s Church in Melton, in which Revd Mary received the ‘Signs of Ministry’ - water, bread and wine, Bible, prayer book, hymn book, oil of healing, globe and plant.
