As we move through the Season of Creation, services of confirmation continue in the diocese, with Bishop Saju and Bishop Martin leading three celebrations during September.
On Sunday 10 September, Mike Wootton was confirmed during a service with Holy Communion at St Michael and All Angels Church in Croft.
Bishop Saju and Revd Pauline Cummins joined with Mike’s family and church friends in prayer and praise, pledging to support Mike in his commitment and continued journey in faith.
The following week, on Sunday 17 September at Sileby St Mary’s, four people were confirmed from St John, Rothley, and seven from Sileby, including one baptism.
Bishop Martyn presided over a liturgically diverse service of confirmation at St Paul’s Church in Oadby on Sunday 24 September with 10 candidates from many different backgrounds and heritages making their commitment.
The service was also attended by members of Roots intercultural worshipping community, which led to great conversations about the use of symbolism and words in the service.
