On Saturday (9 September) the diocese hosted its UKME/GMH (United Kingdom Minority Ethnic/Global Majority Heritage) Day at St Theodore’s Church in Leicester.
It was a great occasion to bring Anglicans of Global Majority Heritage together - to worship together and reflect together and explore the Living in Love and Faith (LLF) conversation.
The gathered group welcomed Alison Booker, Archdeacon of Oakham, to lead and facilitate sessions, and Bishop Saju shared about our unique identity as Christians from a UKME/GMH background.
Jessie Tang, our diocesan Intercultural Ministry Director, said: “UKME/GMH voices have been largely absent in the LLF conversation, so this was an opportunity to engage in the topic. I would like to thank everyone who was involved in making this day possible.”
