The mission and ministry of St Peter's Church in Belgrave is featured in a new video, as part of a series highlighting 'New Communities' across the Diocese of Leicester.
The film shows the impact St Peter’s is having on the community through initiatives such as their thriving Messy Church.
“Messy Church is a really intergenerational way of worshipping together so, you've got children, parents, grandparents, working together on different activities,” explains Anne Scott, one of the founding leaders of the group at St Peter’s.
Their Messy Church began off the back of a successful Christmas event and has, in turn, catalysed a number of new ministries, including an outdoor 'Mossy Church', a Café Church and a Community Cupboard run out of the local pub.
Anne is excited that the wider community is being blessed in so many ways by the people of St Peter’s church. “My hope and dream is that the whole area will come to life,” she says. “Belgrave means 'beautiful grove' and it would just be amazing to see Belgrave flourish as we reveal more about who God is. It just feels a real privilege to be part of that, and to be able to pray that over the community and with the community.”
The video was produced by Homespun Projects as part of a series profiling New Communities in the Diocese of Leicester. Watch the rest of the series on our YouTube channel.
