Help the Diocese of Leicester Develop a Survivor Strategy

The Diocese of Leicester’s Safeguarding team are hoping to create a focus group to help develop a survivor strategy for the Diocese of Leicester and Leicester Cathedral, shaping future care and support for survivors. Our Safeguarding Team want to ensure there are opportunities for survivor voices to contribute to practice-development.

The focus group will be facilitated by Shabnum Popat, Clinical Lead for a local counselling service for survivors of childhood abuse and Rachael Spiers, Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser.

They are looking for up to 10 local survivors of abuse connected to the Church of England to take part.

It is anticipated that the focus group will run for an initial period of 4 months starting from the end of February 2024. An honorarium will be offered for your time.

More information is available here.

If you would like to be involved please email Rachael.Spiers@LeicesterCofE.org by the end of January. Shabnum and Rachael would be delighted to meet with you to discuss what would be involved.
