Link Diocese Learning Exchange Visit for Leaders

One of our privileges in the Anglican Communion is that we have relationships with partner dioceses around the world.
For us, in the Diocese of Leicester, we have links with dioceses in Tanzania, India, and the USA.

We are currently working towards a visit to our partner diocese in Tanzania in 2025, and another trip to India in 2026. Would you like to be part of this link diocese learning exchange visit?

In particular, we would like to invite ‘developing’ leaders to be part of the team, including curates, lay ministers in training, emerging leaders in Intercultural Worshipping Communities and the Mothers’ Union.

Whether you consider yourself to be in one of the above categories, if you are a supporter of someone who is one of those leaders, or if you just have a keen interest to discover more about our link dioceses and the visit, then you are warmly invited to a meeting at The Church of the Martyrs, Leicester, on Tuesday 21 January 2025, from 7pm-9pm.

There will be intercultural worship, information about our links and the visit, and the sharing of food.

Talking of the privilege that it is to partner with dioceses around the world, particularly in travelling to support and witness the work that goes on to care for our brothers and sisters in Christ, as well as learning from each other and worshipping alongside them, David Shepherd, link person for the diocese, said:

"Seeing and sharing first hand with our siblings around the world is always interesting, exciting, and challenging. You can never come away the same. We're not meant to!"

If you are interested in being part of this learning trip, and want to come along to the meeting, please get in touch with David Shepherd on dave_shep@btinternet.com

The images show elements of our link dioceses in Tanzania: a new church in Manyara, travelling in Arusha, and learning about the Kiteto eye clinic.
