New Chair of the House of Clergy

Revd Wendy Dalrymple, Rector of All Saints with Holy Trinity in Loughborough, and currently Area Dean of Akley East, has been elected Chair of the House of Clergy following Peter Hooper’s departure to become Archdeacon of France.

Aspects of this important elected role include chairing meetings of the Diocesan Synod (with the Chair of the House of Laity), involvement in agenda planning for the Synod and Bishop’s Council, and acting as a representative of clergy in the diocese.

Bishop Martyn said: “I am grateful to Wendy for her willingness to take on this role as well as the other candidates who stood for election. I look forward to working with her in this capacity.”

Revd Wendy said: “It is an honour to have been elected by my clergy colleagues on Diocesan Synod. I will endeavour to faithfully fulfil the responsibilities which they have entrusted me with and to listen to and support the breadth of theological views and expressions of church within our diocese.”
