St Philip's Centre is preserving the memories and experiences that lie behind cohesion and community spirit by recording and documenting one hundred and three stories from those who have made their home in Leicester.

A rich variety of cultures and experiences can be found within Leicester, with roughly one third of participants born overseas, a third from the UK outside of Leicester itself, and a third born within Leicester. The youngest participants were in in their late teens, the oldest was one hundred. People had a wide variety of ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds. Some are neurodiverse, others have a physical disability. The LGBT community is also represented. Leicester is a melting pot, and the interviews reflect this. Everyone who participated is quoted once or twice, with nine main chapters, covering the following themes:
- Only in Leicester
- Free to be me
- Where is home?
- Changes, good and bad
- Stories of welcome and exclusion
- Barriers and challenges
- Lived religion and belief
- Celebrating Leicester
- Quirky treasure
