We are delighted to be able to share a round-up of confirmations and baptisms that have happened over the summer:
Woodfield Team of churches had a confirmation service on 22 August at Packington Church for two candidates: one from Packington and one from St Helen's in Ashby. Bishop Martyn confirmed and blessed both candidates: Ruth Salt, Packington's candidate, said "It was a very special service and it meant a lot to me to see so many gather together from the congregations of Packington and St Helen’s after the separation and isolation we’ve all experienced recently. The support from everyone, guidance from our vicars, and wonderful words from Bishop Martyn will stay with me, so heartfelt thanks to all who came."
St Andrews, Jarrom Street, Leicester celebrated as two adults and a teenager were confirmed by Bishop Christopher on Sunday 16 August. They were Elham Zarei, who was also baptised; Anna Trussell and Lilian Arens respectively. Lilian is the daughter of Father Johannes Arens, parish priest at St Andrews.
Belvoir Castle saw a confirmation service in its Chapel in August. The photo below shows the candidates Marquess of Granby (Left) and Lord Hugo Manners (Right) together with Bishop Martyn, the current Chaplain to the Duke, Simon Schuler, and the former Chaplain to the Duke,Stuart Foster.
Sparkenhoe East/Ratby had their special service on the 4 July when Danielle Burgham from St Crispin’s Braunstone Town was baptised by Bishop Martyn. He also confirmed the following: Ratby; Ruth Scott, Groby; Andrew Norman, Glenfield; Barry Jones, Glenfield; Anthony Bradley; Newtown Linford. And Lynda Hawkes from Ratby was received into the Church of England.
At All Saints, Belgrave, Leicester there were a large number of baptisms and confirmations on 27 June. The following children were baptised: Abigail Oliver Simon; twins Alexander and Anaxander McCubbin; Ankur Masih; Avnoor Singh; Daniel O Adjadje; Rhea Isabel Thomas.
These people were baptised and confirmed: David O Adjadje; Esther E Adjadje; Oscar Jaison Wilson; Sandip Masih; Tarspal Singh; Vishal Thapar.
The following were confirmed: Nikhil Yoel Reuben; Raj Kumar Reuben; Sahil Sarfraz Tabassum Iqbal, Shanza Sarfraz Tabassum Iqbal.
