In September, Bishop Chandra, his wife and other guests visited us in the Diocese of Leicester. A busy planned itinerary of visiting churches and groups around the city and county, as well as a visit to London, was impacted by the sad death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The group took part in the Service of Prayer and Reflection at St Mary de Castro Church in Leicester, attended by the Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire, two days after the Queen's death was announced. Bishop Chandra was even interviewed by BBC East Midlands TV who came to the Cathedral's service in St Martins House, and he told them about his own reflections on Her Majesty's life of service and faithfulness.
They took part in the Licensing Service for Jessie Tang, our new Intercultural Ministry Director, which you can read about here .
