Licensing at St Peter's signals new season of mission for Oadby church

Yesterday saw Jon Tearne and Sami Lindsey licensed to St Peter's, Oadby as part of an exciting plan to revitalise the church's mission and ministry there. The vision is to continue to build on St Peter's well established and valued civic role and to become more intentionally mission focussed, with a particular emphasis on engaging with children, young people, families, and young adults.


Online Nativity Series

Here's a great project that Holy Trinity Leicester, one of our diocesan Resourcing Churches, are offering as a resource that can be used by any church in the diocese who would find it helpful. It's a set of short videos they've made, starring children, retelling the nativity story in the context of the events of 2020.


Exciting partnership for St John's, Clarendon Park and St Peters, Oadby

It has been announced on Sunday that St John's, Clarendon Park and St Peters, Oadby will be collaborating in an exciting new partnership. St Johns is one of the diocese's six designated Resourcing Churches and the vision for the partnership is a revitalisation of St. Peter's, with a  particular focus on growing mission among children and young families, young people and young adults (including students), and to work towards St. Peter's itself becoming a planting church from which new worshipping communities in Oadby can be established.


Dementia-friendly online Christmas service

A Christmas carol service designed to be accessible to people living with dementia and others who might appreciate a more relaxed approach is now available online.


Highlights from online holiday club

17th August 2020

Last week saw 134 children from 26 churches and 14 with no expressed church connection, participate in His Majesty's Secret Spies Online Holiday Club, a partnership between the Diocese of Leicester and Holy Trinity Church Leicester. The club featured two parts with a live stream, complete with video stories, craft and spy fitness, followed by Zoom groups. It is fair to say that there were moments of unintentional drama behind the scenes but there was also plenty of evidence of God at work and children and leaders having fun and connecting with others.


First major review into Resourcing Churches

After several months of listening, discernment and evolving plans in response to what God is doing, the first major review into Resourcing Churches in Leicester Diocese has now been published.
