A former clergy person in the diocese has been convicted of sexual offences from his time as a teacher in a non-church school in the 1970s
Leicester Cathedral hosted a service for Safeguarding Coordinators from our parish churches and other worshipping communities across Leicestershire
Work is still underway in our diocese as part of the nationwide review of safeguarding cases in the Church of England
A statement following the publication of the IICSA Report
Work is underway in churches across the Diocese of Leicester, as part of a nationwide independent review of all clergy and church officer files and to take action on any safeguarding concerns.
Like all the other dioceses in the Church of England, we are conducting Past Cases Review 2 (PCR 2) into safeguarding matters relating to sexual abuse of children or vulnerable adults.
The Rt Revd Martyn Snow, travelled through county and city on his first day as Bishop of Leicester Designate.
The new Bishop of Leicester is to be the Rt Revd Martyn Snow, currently Bishop of Tewkesbury. The announcement was made on the website of 10 Downing Street this morning.
