It was a joy-filled service of new beginnings and commitment to shared ministry, as the Revd Kim Ford was welcomed into the parish of St John’s Hinckley
Bishop Martyn paid a visit to Inter Care in Syston to meet its staff and volunteers and learn more about the charity's efforts to support healthcare overseas.
The licensing of The Reverend Dr Vijay Kumar as Pioneer Priest in the Benefice of the Resurrection Leicester, was held during morning prayer at Bishop’s Lodge on 14 January 2025.
A new listening resource inspired by the work of our Youth Engagement & Intergenerational Communities Enabler, Matt Long and our Bishops Youth and Children’s Council has been released as part of a national Church of England project.
The Church of England’s Energy Footprint Tool (EFT) is now open for all churches in the diocese to enter fuel and power use from 2024.
Christians around the diocese have been blessing their homes, work and places of worship with ‘holy graffiti’ in a traditional Epiphany act of celebration called ‘chalking the door’.
The project coordinator for Leicester’s Homelessness Charter has left to take up a post with the Jo Cox Foundation.
Throughout the year churches open their doors to provide hospitality, refreshments and welcome to those in their parish. During the winter months these coffee mornings and drop-ins can be a vital point of connection and support.
As the year draws to a close, and we get ready to celebrate the birth of Christ, the final baptisms and confirmations of 2024 have taken place in the diocese.
