There were blessings in abundance as the church communities of Mountsorrel welcomed an all-age congregation to Christ Church for a special Godparents’ Sunday service.
Holy Trinity Church in Thrussington has been on a fundraising campaign for the past two years. Their latest fundraiser - a fun, rhyming storybook - has been a big hit.
The bells rang out and the sun made an appearance, as the Revd Barry Hill was ordained and consecrated as the Suffragan Bishop of Whitby in a Eucharistic service at York Minster on Thursday (10 October).
Local charity SoundCafe has celebrated 10 years of supporting people in Leicester who have experienced homelessness or are vulnerable due to their housing situation. To mark the occasion a concert was held at St. Mary de Castro featuring the SoundCafe choir and poetry contributions from SoundCafe guests.
Bishop Martyn recently visited The Bridge Homelessness to Hope on Melton Street in Leicester to meet the staff and guests of the charity.

Around 100 people gathered in Leicester Cathedral on 2 October for a service in lament of homelessness. The worship was a time to reflect on the realities of homelessness and to consider how best to work together to serve those affected.
