More churches are joining the annual Ride+Stride than since before the pandemic

More churches are joining the annual Ride+Stride than since before the pandemic.

There are nearly 320 churches and chapels registered for Ride+Stride on Saturday 10 September 2022 (at least 70 more than during the last two difficult years) and the List of Open Churches and Chapels is now available on this link https://www.lhct.org.uk/ride-and-stride/ where you can also download a Sponsorship Form and advice on setting up a JustGiving page.

Janet Arthur MBE, Chair, LeicesterShire Historic Churches Trust, said:

"We are so thankful for the hundreds of local organisers, and the six area organisers, who have helped us reach this wonderful level of participation!  if you haven’t already registered your church/chapel for Ride+Stride 2020, there is still plenty of time to do so – please use the online registration form half way down this link https://www.lhct.org.uk/ride-and-stride/ or contact Janet Arthur (chairman@lhct.org.uk / 07840 543288).  We will update the List of Open Churches and Chapels again at the end of August, and again just before the event takes place on 10 September.

"So – there are lots of churches and chapels to ride and stride to on 10 September – as many or as few as you wish, on a route of your choice.  Do get yourself a sponsorship form and help raise some funds for the church/chapel or your choice, and for the Trust – and you can also be sponsored for welcoming people to your church.

"The more people take part on the day, the more money will be raised (shared between the church/chapel of your choice and the Trust). We raised £39,000 in 2020 and £35,000 in 2021 (pandemic notwithstanding) so – with your help and support – we should be able to raise between £40,000 and £50,000 in 2022.  Ride+Stride Funds = Grants for Churches!"
