The Diocese of Leicester and the Diocese of Lincoln have come together to offer an East Midlands Pilgrimage to Taizé for young adults aged 18-35, which will take place from August 1-9 this year.
In a joyful service of welcome and commitment to shared ministry, the Revd Riffat Zamurad was recently licensed by Bishop Saju as Vicar of St Mary and St Barnabas, Humberstone, and Christ Church in Thurnby Lodge.
In their Christmas Message for 2025, Bishop Martyn and Bishop Saju invite us to stop, look and really notice the people who show up in the Christmas story.
As we look forward with renewed hope to the birth of Christ, we mark the many baptisms and confirmations that have taken place across the diocese during November and December.
It was a double service celebration in the Launde Deanery Minster Community recently as the Revd Crystal McAllister was licensed into the parishes and commissioned in her role as Oversight Minister.
It was a whistle stop tour of the diocese for Bishop Bethuel and Bishop Mama Agnes of the Diocese of Kiteto in Tanzania, when they recently made their first ever visit to Leicester. During their stay, the Bishop and his wife travelled through the rural heart and urban heartlands of the diocese, to experience life, faith and fellowship across the city and county in which we worship.
Remembrance Sunday was marked by church and community around the diocese yesterday, with poppy cascades, parades, and services including those led by the Bishop of Leicester and the Bishop of Loughborough.
We are delighted to be able to share a round-up of confirmations which took place within our worshipping communities during the month of October, and the few weeks either side.
We are delighted to have 12 participants enrolled on the Church of England Ministry Experience Scheme this academic year. They will be serving a range of churches across the Diocese of Leicester and engaging with a breadth of ministry including children and youth work, social action, community engagement, schools, worship and creative media.
It was a joyful service of welcome and commitment to shared ministry in the Benefice of Broom Leys, as the Revd Steve O’Rourke was licensed Vicar of St David’s Church.
