A church-based project to bring a culturally diverse community together in faith and friendship, is doing well in nurturing good mental health and building bridges between the many different people living in the parish of Evington.
As Together Leicester Development Worker, Elaine Smith has been working ecumenically with parishes in the county to develop innovative and creative ways of addressing food poverty, including community kitchens, lunch clubs, community fridges and cook and eat sessions, alongside the food pantries that have been emerging across the diocese
St John's, Clarendon Park, Leicester was the Central regional winner of the Good News Church Competition run by the insurance company Ecclesiastical.
