Take part in the Minority Anglican Project

The Minority Anglican Project is a large-scale research project that aims to explore and learn from the experiences of minority ethnic Anglicans in the Church. A collaboration between the Church of England – Birmingham and the Cadbury Centre, in the School of Philosophy, Theology & Religion at the University of Birmingham, the project is directed by Dr Andrew Davies, Director of the Cadbury Centre with Revd Dr Sharon Prentis and will be run by Cognitive Psychologist Dr Sanjee Perera.

Together Leicester Community Gifts

The Diocese of Leicester (Board of Finance) has announced a £60,000 fund for gifts to community organisations nominated by their local church. Gifts of £5-10K will be given to projects/organisations will be given to projects/organisations meeting the criteria and nominations must be submitted by the end of September 2019.

Torch have just launched a new initiative Sight Loss Friendly Church and are inviting churches to sign up. Torch is the only Christian charity dedicated to sight loss in the UK and have 60 years of experience.


New grants programme: Growing lives

Allchurches Trust has launched a new grants programme – Growing Lives – aimed at helping churches and Christian organisations throughout the UK and Ireland to connect with children and young people and forge lasting links with families in their local area.

In 2017 the number of people paying by cash fell below the number paying by debit or credit card. The number of cash machines is falling, especially in rural and urban areas, and many machines that used to dispense cash with a charge is also reducing.

New Churchcare website launched

Deanery Boundaries redrawn to promote mission and local identity

In a move designed to encourage the mission work of local churches, the current Framland and Gartree I and II Deaneries are being reshaped and renamed. Two benefices in the south of Framland, including Launde Abbey, will join with the deeply rural parishes of Gartree I to form the Launde Deanery, while Market Harborough will join up with Oadby to form a deanery based around the A6 corridor, called the Gartree Deanery.
