A wonderful and creative afternoon was had at the ‘Kindling: Good Conversation for Pioneers’ event at Launde Abbey
The church was packed to the rafters for the annual Called Together Service giving thanks for lay ministers across the diocese
Learning and support to those in rural ministry across the Diocese of Leicester, the East Midlands and East Anglia
As we continue to journey into what it means to be Shaped By God Together, Diocesan Synod is focusing on one of the five diocesan strategic priorities at each of its meetings in 2022 and 2023. At the last meeting it turned to focus on the priority of new worshipping communities. Jonathan Dowman, who leads our work with fresh expressions of Church, and Barry Hill, who leads our work with Resourcing Churches presented more on the why, what and how of new worshipping communities and pioneering.
Little fires warmed the hands and lit the hearts of members of a fresh expression of Church in Houghton on the Hill recently, as they gathered in the vicarage garden to hear the Good News of Jesus.
Members of the community across the Upper Wreake Benefice recently enjoyed a prayerful week of pilgrim walks, taking in the beautiful, rural landscape and reflecting on where God was at work in their villages and the wider diocese. The four walks each covered between two and five miles and took place among the parishes of Frisby, Hoby, Rotherby, Ragdale, Kirby Bellars and Brooksby.
Over 30 people attended a special Black History Month service hosted by the Roots intercultural worshipping community last week. The celebration service was to mark Black History Month, which has been observed in the UK since 1987.
Alan Pyke, a retired vicar from Kibworth is walking the 850 mile distance from Lands End to John O'Groats without leaving the sheltered accommodation complex where he lives, to raise money for The Well charity in the village.
Village families joined together online to consider the events of the first Easter and to make their own hot cross buns!
Church communities in Countesthorpe and Thorpe Arnold have been getting creative
