September is East & Southeast Asian (ESEA) Heritage Month. Jessie Tang, our Intercultural Ministry Director, reflects on her familial journey.
As the new school year begins, so too does the next chapter of our diocesan Journey in Faith (JiF) course. If you are seeking to grow in your knowledge of the Christian Faith, deepen your relationship with God and explore how to live out your faith in your whole life, then JiF is a great place to start.
Earlier in August, the Church of the Martyrs in Leicester gathered 20 young adults and university students for a sizzling BBQ and conversation with Bishop Saju. The group represented a diversity of cultural backgrounds who came together not only to share food but also to share fellowship.
A reflective service on the eve of the 80th anniversary of VJ Day (Victory over Japan Day) was held In Leicester Cathedral on Thursday (14 August). The occasion was attended by a congregation including civic dignitaries and esteemed military guests representing the city and county, marking the 80th anniversary of VJ Day and the end of the Second World War.
At the beginning of the summer, three of our MES students, Fernando, Nicole and Paulinho, spent time with St Andrew’s Church in Countesthorpe, supporting them with a mission week - a series of events run by the church to meet and serve members of the community.
In February 2025, General Synod voted to strengthen the role of young adults in shaping the Church’s future, passing a motion to embed their voices more systematically in national decision-making.
This September, a team from the Diocese of Leicester, led by Revd Dave Rollett, will be travelling to Tanzania to visit our link partner dioceses of Kilimanjaro and Kiteto.
As part of our commitment as a diocese to prioritise the inclusion and flourishing of all God’s people in our worshipping communities, the Revd Phil Bryson has taken up the position of Diocesan Disability Adviser.
What makes a saint? Not halos, not headlines, but hands. In this video Bishop Saju reflects on the life and death of St Wistan and asks us to consider how God might be calling us to serve Him.
On a busy road leading into Loughborough, the gardens at Emmauel have long been admired by the church and community. Those travelling past often comment on the year-round bright and beautiful flower beds, with roses, hydrangeas, and helichrysum to name but a few currently in bloom.
