Loving Service of the World is one of our three priorities as a diocese. So, to find out how parishes across the diocese are serving their communities, the Social Responsibility Panel asked church leaders and church officers what needs they are seeing in their communities, how they’re responding to them, and how the Social Responsibility Panel can best support them.
As disciples, and as a diocese, celebrating diversity and upholding racial justice and equity, is a significant priority. Perhaps it’s something already on your heart, or maybe you want to understand more? Either way, taking this trail is an opportunity to learn and use each globe as a place to pause, and pray.
On Sunday 25 September two of our deaneries celebrated confirmations at services in Birstall and Desford.
On Sunday 11 September, Jessie Tang was licensed as Intercultural Ministry Director by Bishop Martyn at a service at the Church of the Martyrs in Leicester.
As the period of national mourning ends, Bishop Martyn thanks our churches and worshipping communities for all their efforts, promises ongoing support and shares sermon notes from two of the civic services
Civic dignitaries and Cadets and guests from other faiths took part in this moving service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving for The Queen.

On the eve of the state funeral, people of all faiths and none are invited to attend Leicestershire’s Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
