A weekend of community Christmas celebrations in Foxton, Gumley and Laughton

The weekend of 10-12 December was an exciting one for the churches of Foxton, Gumley and Laughton as they moved one of their church services into a farmer's barn, held their annual Christmas Tree Festival, went carol singing with the children from the village and held a Christmas concert in one of the churches.

Sunday 5 December saw an exciting step taken in the growing relationship between the congregations of St Andrew's, Jarrom Street and the Filipino Chaplaincy in Leicester.


Leicester Cathedral is on the move!

As the Leicester Cathedral Revealed project progresses, the last service in the building will be held on Sunday 2 January 2022. After that the building will close its doors until autumn 2023, for long awaited major repair and restoration works and the construction of a new visitor and learning centre, to be known as the Chapter House.


Bishop's Social Policy Adviser Appointed

The Bishop of Leicester has appointed a Social Policy Adviser (two days per week and funded nationally by the Church Commissioners). Florence Gildea will start in the role in the new year but will spend occasional days in the diocese before then.

The Revd Canon Lusa Nsenga-Ngoy, currently Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Mission and Ministry Enabler in the Diocese of Leicester, has today been announced as the Diocese of London's next Bishop of Willesden, covering the boroughs of Brent, Ealing, Harrow and Hillingdon.
